STEM Connection: Cardiac Stent
transform | transfawrm |A cardiac stent opens blocked arteries. It needs to travel through a small diameter tube to the blockage. A prototype developed at the University of Oxford is folded using an origami based pattern. Once in position, the stent transforms, inflating to open the blocked artery.
