In Lemons, you will find the molecule, S limonene, which gives off the characteristic lemon scent. The mirror image molecule, R limonene, is chemically identical and symmetrical to S limonene, but, you won’t find it in lemons; it’s in oranges. These symmetrical, mirror image molecules are called isomers. An orange and a lemon are chemically identical isomers.
